CHRISTMAS SERVICE

A Tale of Two Esthers
The Story of Esther Tan

Esther Tan would surprise even herself. Try? Yes…. She
had to slow to a walk to finish the try out run. Her
perseverance got her an invitation to invest 4 years to be
part of the first Singapore women team to climb Mt
Everest. Then she discovered she had a heart condition
that required 2 operations. Her story shows there is no
dream too large or setback too great for God.
Invite your Families and Friends to see this amazing story.

THE BASIS FOR OUR HOPE - I
PASTOR FRANCIS CHEN

A Christian's sense of hope is not about wishing that things will
somehow turn for the better. Our hope is based on a blessed
assurance and that assurance is God. Let us journey with the
faithful as we see how they guarded their hearts in the Book of
Malachi.

FAITH

NKJV: “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the
evidence of things not seen”. To have faith is to have
confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it
gives us assurance about things we cannot see.

PASTOR FRANCIS CHEN

Let us find persistent faith today by looking at an example set for
us by a Prophet who lived by faith and not by sight. NKJV:
"Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud
of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so
easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race...."

HOPE - Our Platform To What Is To Be
REV PETER SOH

Hope, one of the three pillars of the fundamentals of Christian life
(Faith, Hope, Love) is a patient, disciplined, confident waiting for
and sure expectation of the Lord as our Saviour. This hope,
centred on Christ, is characterized by: a) focusing on the goal
ahead; b) involving in overcoming; c) waiting steadfastly (in
Singlish: “tahan-ness”).

HERALD OF HOPE
PASTOR THERESA

“Behold, I will send My messenger, and He will clear the way
before Me. And Jehovah, whom you seek, shall suddenly come
to His temple, even the Angel of the Covenant, in whom you
delight. Behold, He comes, says Jehovah of Hosts. But who can
endure the day of His coming? And who shall stand when He
appears? For He is like a refiner's fire, and like fuller's soap.”

God grants Israel's request for a king.

the king that ushered the golden age for
Israel & Solomon is the king who built
God's temple. However, the first three

a united kingdom.

FAITH - Our Handle To What We Cannot See
REV PETER SOH

Faith, a key element in one’s relationship with God, is the human
response to the communication of God. Hebrews 11:1, in defining
faith, shows it as the tangible handle to the unseen. Mark 5:24 -
34 gives an example of a person who not only was rewarded for
her exercise of faith but also contributed to a wave of
breakthrough in the lives of many.

framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen

FAITH – A SENSE OF CALLING
BRO THIAM BOON

Hebrews 11:6 says that it is impossible to please God without
faith, and that God will reward those who seek Him. Verse 8 says
that by faith, Abraham was called to a new place without knowing
the full picture. He looked forward to the fulfilment of his calling.
10 For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder
and maker is God. His sense of calling was based on faith which
pleases God totally.
